Newsletter #6 Toxicity

On of the biggest problems we face today is Toxicity.  It is estimated that we ingest about 1 gallon of pesticides each year in the foods that we eat.  In addition to eating them we are breathing them in in the form of pollution and in the products in our homes that are made of synthetic materials.  Never before has the body been faced with overload to our systems.  When a toxin is taken in by the body in many cases the body odes not know how to remove it.  To protect us from these toxins the body encapsulates the Toxin in a fat cell or the cells of our organs.  Is it any wonder that so many of us are having weight issues.  As one goes on a diet and reduces their weight the toxins are taken out of the protective fat cells and redistributed around the body. After a period of time fat cells are recreated to encapsulate the toxin once again in unexpected weight gain.  To remove the weight completely we must remove the toxins.  About a year and a half ago I found some products that cleanse the body by doing a deep cellular cleanse.  In do this cleanse toxins are removed from the cells and eliminated from the body.  As a side benefit of this the fat cell is not needed any more by the body and thus a reduction in weight is seen as a side benefit.  I personally went from 220 pounds to about 180 in a few months of doing constant cleanses.

Here is a  video on the Toxins we have around us and the challenges we face everyday.

Newsletter #5: Meditation

I have been studying meditation for as long as I can remember.  As a child I remember reading a number of books I found around the house on self-hypnosis which seemed to have been some of my first exposures.  I was intrigued by this topic since it seemed to me that we have much more potential than we are aware of.  Over the course of many years I took classes and studied different meditation techniques to the tune of a few thousand different techniques and methods.  I used much of what I had learned in my professional career to solve problems and design new products.  I also used many in my personal life to reduce stress and to generally expand my creativity.  The value of meditation cannot be over emphasized.

I was recently asked to contribute content to a book which explains how our current society has an epidemic going on in a five main areas: Toxicity, Obesity, Deficiency, Stress and Inflammation called the TODSI syndrome. The way to cope with these five areas is called the TODSI Protocol, pronounced TOE-DOE-SEE, as defined by Peter Greenlaw.  Peter is the author of the book “Why Diets Are Failing Us!: And What You Can Do To Get Healthy Now.” Peter’s latest book due out shortly is on the TDOSI Syndrome and the TDOSI Protocol. My contribution to the book is in the area of stress management and the benefits of some kind of meditation practice.  The part of the TODSI Protocol that deals with Stress.

Stress is found in all aspects of our lives.  It is not necessary a bad thing but out of control it can be devastating.  We find stress can build up from things like but certainly not limited to:

  • Working conditions
  • Not getting recognition for the work we do.
  • Being in a High performance job.
  • Need a sense of purpose.
  • Personal life
  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Parents
  • Friends
  • Driving
  • Teachers
  • School
  • Social demands
  • Ways of coping with stress
  • Meditation
  • Drinking
  • Drugs
  • Anger
  • Depression

There are many ways to handle and cope with stress. A very effective way to deal with stress is with Meditation. In simple terms meditation is a way to relax the body by relaxing the mind. In a little more technical terms Meditation can be defined as consciously altering ones brain frequency.  Altering ones brain frequency is the key to all meditation and is described in many religious teaching with a clear meaning, if you know how to interpret it.  I go into this in more detail in my videos.

Here are some links to my intro to meditation series on YouTube for your enjoyment.

Newsletter #4: Malcom Gladwell

Steve Jobs once said of Apple’s core values, “We believe people with passion can change the world for the better … and that those people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who actually do.”

I was invited by American Express Open Forum to view a live stream interview of Malcolm Gladwell.  Malcolm Gladwell is the author of The Tipping Point, Blink, Outliers, What the Dog Saw, and now, his latest, David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits and the Art of Battling Giants. The rebroadcast can be found here:  I am not sure if it will work or not but give it a try if you would like to view the interview. I think you can view it if you sign on with your LinkedIn ID.  Go to if you do not have one and sign up and remember to connect with me if you do.

In his latest book, David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits and the Art of Battling Giants, he relates how a high percentage of entrepreneurs have learning disabilities.  Gladwell found that they did not succeed in spite of their disability but because of it.  As each was interviewed they had the same lessons and became good at:

  • team building
  • oral skills
  • building alliances
  • getting smart people to work        in a team with them
  • dealing with failure
  • taking a social risk
  • delegating

In other words because of their learning disabilities they became good at skill most of us have not developed.

Newsletter #3: Focus on your Goals

Les Hewitt author of “The Power of Focus” says to surround yourself with those that will “Cheer you on” and “Support you” in your vision and goals. He states that there are 7 specific life categories for your goals to ensure a healthy well balanced lifestyle:

  1. Business – Growth, Sales, New Ventures
  2. Financial – Income, Savings and Investment, Debt Elimination
  3. Fun Time – Relaxation, Vacation, Hobbies, Family Time
  4. Health & Fitness – Physical, Mental, Spiritual
  5. Relationships – Self, Business, Personal, Family
  6. Personal – (Just For Me Goals) Projects, Purchases, Learning (create several unique meaningful experiences)
  7. Contribution – Charity, Community, Church

A good way to start off the New Year and a popular one I’ll bet is setting some weight reduction and exercise goals.  A group of us are starting a 30 day weight reduction and deep cellular cleanse on January 6’Th.

Newsletter #2: Goals

With 2013 over and 2014 upon us, it’s customary in our society to make New Year’s Resolutions. However, many times these resolutions fade from memory by the end of January.   But this year this different, and should be the start of new beginnings. For the first time in 19 years, the New Moon falls on January 1st (at 6:14 am).  This makes it a special year, and astrologically speaking the time is ripe for starting fresh. Now is the time to figure out and define:

  • Who you are in your business
  • What is your professional image and your public image

This year, focus on the significant changes you want to make in your life.

The New Moon on the 1st gives significance to energizing the goals you define for yourself for the coming year.  I am using a combination of several different books and advisors on goal setting and working up a comprehensive plan for 2014.  My plan is about 10 to 15 pages long and defines goals in every area of my life.  I suggest you do the same. When you write down your goals, you improve your chances of success, telling other people and socialize your goals raises your success rate even higher. While reviewing it daily increases your success rate even more. Further, meditate on your plan to impresses the information on your subconscious mind and allow your mind to subconsciously steer you in that direction.  Start with deciding your “why”.  Why do you do the things you do? Is everything you do a reflection of your why?  If it is then you should be in a state of joy while doing it knowing that you are fulfilling your divine purpose in life.

While defining your goals for the coming year, remember to reflect back on the previous year and analyze what worked and what did not.  What did you set out to do and what did you decided that you really did not want to do?  What did you accomplish and what did you fall short on? Being able to analyze your plan is another reason to write it down.

Here’s to a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year
